Submitting an Image:

You will need to be logged in as a member of the Full Members group before you can upload images or post anything in these forums.

Hot Tip...

If you can reduce your image file sizes down to about 250Kb or less - and with physical dimensions of about 1500 pixels by, say, 850 pixels before uploading them to the Gallery - you will find that they will cause far less hassles than if you try to upload a giant 1.5Mb or something image!!

To submit an image to an album, visit the index page of the album or sub-category that you wish to submit your image to.
Click on 'New Image'
Give your image a title.
Put a little descriptive text in the large blank field.
(The more description you can put in, the more likely you are to get a lot of Google search hits on your image!)
Use the "Image to upload" field to browse your computer for the image that you want to post.
When you are ready, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Post Image"

The important thing to realize here is that the "New Image" button will only appear when you are at the index page for the album, (or sub-category) in question.
(If you think about this, it is fairly logical...!!)
You can't upload an image to an image, for example!! Neither will you see the "New Image" button when you are on the main Gallery index page. Click on a category first, then an album or a sub-category. You will only see the "New Image" button where you are allowed to upload an image. So you will see it when you are on the index page for one of your own albums - but not when you are on the index page of someone else's...!!

Makes sense?!!
:)

Similarly, to submit an image to one of your own albums, (My Controls > Your Albums > Create Album, to create your first one;) you can visit the index page of one of your albums in the Members Albums area of the Gallery and then click on "New Image" or "New Media"
You can also go to "My Controls > Your Albums" and then select "Upload Image" from the drop-down menu next to any of your albums.

Guests and ordinary members are no longer allowed to post images in any of the galleries on this or any other website in the artfreaks.com group of sites.

The first thing you will need to do if you wish to upload images, is to take out a free membership of the forums of the site in which you are interested.

You will then need to send me a Personal Message and request a free upgrade to the Full Members group of your particular forums.

See the below, which is quoted from my "The war against spam" thread:

A few new compulsory input fields have been introduced in the registration form - and that seems to have "licked" the spam bots... (For the time-being, at least... That is, until the people that design these things take them to the next stage, where their bots will be able to recognise what kind of formats they will need to use when automatically filling-out the different fields...)

Consequently, as of the time of writing, new users can now register directly again - and they do not need to wait for admin approval.

However, just to keep one step ahead of the spam bots, I have made it so that newly registered members can't actually post anything until they send me a PM and request a free upgrade to the Full Members group. That way, when the day comes that the spam bot developers find a way around by spam bot registration prevention measures - they will be able to get into the forums but they won't actually be able to post a damn thing when they get there!

He he he!!

Once you have reached the dizzy heights of the Full Members group, you can then follow the instructions as below:

If you are having difficulty uploading multiple images, check-out this reply from Invision Power Services:

Small Gallery issue... you can't switch between the Basic and Advanced Uploader when viewing the Gallery... this will be fixed in the next version of Gallery, I believe.

To get around it, go to any forum and click "Start New Topic." Then, under the editor, click "Try our Advanced Uploader."

Once it's switched over, go back to the Gallery (you don't actually have to post a new topic) and you should be able to upload multiple files.
