We're getting there! The latest version of the Invision Gallery is now up and running. I hope you like it! The main improvement from my point of view is the new slideshow. It is a vast improvement on the old one as you can now pause the slide show and resume anywhere you like, (by using the film strip thumbnails along the bottom.)
Next-up for this site will be a free classified ads directory, which will allow members to advertise their art for sale.
I've also got a free links directory coming up. This will be great for members who want to plug their own websites and any with which they have affiliate relationships.
There will also be a business locations directory, which will be used for starting a database of physical art gallery locations. Any of the members who own art galleries will be able post their own gallery listings and other members will be able to comment on and rate the galleries concerned.
Lastly, there will be a kind of knowledge base type of articles directory. This will be the long-planned replacement for the "Have-a-go" section of the Forums. Members will be able to post short articles, with their tips on art, painting, photography etc. Other members will be able to rate the tips - thus giving other users the chance to sort them into most viewed, most highly rated, etc., etc.
