Cycle path on the route of the old Strawberry Line

A lovely path for walks and cycling has been constructed on what used to be the track bed of the old Strawberry Line in North Somerset.

Here, you can just about make out the platform of the long abandoned Congresby Station, hidden among the undergrowth of brambles, ivy and beautiful wild summertime flowers.

The Strawberry Line Trail currently runs from Yatton to Cheddar, mostly following the route of the old Strawberry Line Railway. There is an ongoing campaign to get the trail extended all the way to Shepton Mallet, via Wells is Somerset:
