About Me

  1. PR737 on the stand with setting sun providing a beautiful backdrop at Bangkok Suvanabumi Airport. Waiting for boarding to commence, for a flight from BKK -MNL on the evening of 23rd March 2024
  2. The “Great Oak” is an iconic Petersfield landmark which now sits between a hotel of the same name and a branch (no pun intended) of McDonalds. The setting sun is seen between the branches setting across the South Downs at Butser Hill.

  3. The Royal Oak is a legendary pub in the tiny hamlet of Hollywater in Hampshire (between Liphook and Whitehill). After being closed for over 2 x years, it re-opened in November 2023 and is again proving popular. The Sun is setting on New Years Eve 2023 and unfortunately heavy rain isn’t too far away, but let’s hope the Sun never sets again on the Royal Oak!

  4. It is late dusk in Portsmouth as the Gosport ferry heads across the harbour on its short journey from Portsmouth Harbour to Gosport. A Portsmouth Harbour Pilot launch crosses in the opposite direction.

  5. Taken from Ryde Pier on the Isle of Wight, a spring time hazy Sunset.

  6. Beautiful Sunset here in Cavite Philippines
  7. Most cities still have a frenetic morning and evening rush hour. Here it plays out along Makati City’s Ayala Avenue in Manila.

  8. Aldershot Town are well on the way to a 3-0 defeat to Notts County, as the Sun sets and lights the clouds high above the Recreation Ground in Aldershot.

  9. It is Half Time at the Recreation Ground and Aldershot are 1-0 down to local rivals Woking FC. The Sun has almost gone and dusk is gathering backlighting the clouds and producing this atmospheric shot of the sky and the floodlights.

  10. A view from outside the Still and West pub in Old Portsmouth looking out across the Solent. The Isle of Wight is in the distance and the sun is setting over what was HMS Dolphin ( The Royal Navy’s Submarine training location until 1999).

  11. Wight Ryder 1 arrives in Portsmouth Harbour on the 15:45 sailing from Ryde Pier Head.

  12. Wightlink Car Ferry, MV St Clare sails out of Portsmouth Harbour on its way to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. The backdrop if Gosport and the old HMS Dolphin buildings.

  13. HMS Severn (one of the Royal Navy’s River Class ships) slips quietly out of Portsmouth Harbour in the Sunset.

  14. Seen from the Sun Deck at the stern of Wight Ryder 2 the Sun sets across the Isle of Wight.

  15. A little later than the previous picture, Wight Ryder 2 is now travelling along the channel (a “Port” side marker buoy can be seen) to its dock in Portsmouth Harbour. The Sun has nearly gone and the already sub-zero temperatures start to fall further!

  16. Wightlink’s Car Ferry “Victoria of Wight” is sailing across the Solent from Portsmouth Gunwharf to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. In the meantime the “Morning Post” belonging to the Eukor shipping line (a vehicle transporter) approaches from Southampton at the start of a long journey which will see her ultimately arrive in Durban, South Africa.

  17. Heavy rain and strong winds have lashed the Solent all day. The rain has passed over, but there is still a Force 8 Westerley wind blowing in as the Sun sets across the Isle of Wight. The view was taken from inside Wight Ryder II (as tge outside decks were closed) and the spray from the sea can be seen on the window.

  18. A beautiful study of Island Line’s Unit 484 002 waiting at Ryde St Johns Road Station with the setting Sun casting its golden rays on the train and the wet track. After 2 x days of heavy rain, the track about a mile away is heavily flooded and sadly the train will be going nowhere for the rest of the day.

  19. Had fun at Sm MOA seaside. It's been a while since the last time I watched sunset... make me think deeper about life, also it helps me relax.
  20. Dusk is gathering at the Roman Gate entrance to the Hogmoor Inclosure with the setting Sun reflecting on the clouds.
