After some 31 x years on Island Line after some 51 x years before that under the streets of London, Class 483 Unit 006 waits to go into a happy retirement on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. The newcomer Class 484 Unit 004 waits to shunt into the Sidings at Ryde St Johns Road.
A Class 484 alongside a withdrawn Class 483 at Ryde St Johns clearly shows how much bigger they are!
Class 483 were originally built for the "Deep" level "Tube" in London and came across to the Isle of Wight in 1989.
The Class 484 worked originally on the Sub Surface "Underground" in London and arrived on the Island in 2021 to take over!
The 484 is much bigger in height!
