Class 484 004 has departed Brading on the Isle of Wight’s Island Line on its way to Shanklin. The double track reduces down to a single track.
This picture was taken from the Barnes Crossing where a public footpath crosses the railway, in case anyone thinks I was trespassing! 😄
Well, it's nighttime, so you might expect it to be dark! Having said that, dark nights are no longer a given, these days, with all the light pollution around in the world these days...
An atmospheric shot, I thought, with the nearly full moon reflecting it's soft light on a calm tropical Pacific Ocean

The hottest day on record in Manila in April 2024 sees a huge thunderstorm building to the North of the city. Unfortunately it came to nothing and the city went on sweltering. This view from Bonifacio Garden City appears to show a flying saucer, but it is likely a reflection of a light from within the building where the picture was taken.
'Looks like a bit of stormy weather at sea there, right?
Wrong!! That was a winter storm, accompanied by a storm surge - whilst the ship was TIED-UP ALONGSIDE IN PORT!!
You can't see the quayside (off to the left of the photo) - because it was completely underwater, having been been inundated by the storm surge...

Some unseasonably cold and wet days in the UK has seen heavy rain showers and strong Sunshine. A recent rain shower has passed and the Sun pitching in from the West creates a beautiful Rainbow above Whitehill in Hampshire.
If there is truth about the “Crock of Gold” at the end of the Rainbow, then it is in the “Great Wall” Chinese takeaway! 😆
Aside from the historical look of Calle Crisologo, there's also a lot of souvenir shops where you can buy a lot of local products like bags, wallets, and keychains etc.
one of the most beautiful streets in the Philippines, Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. We visited Vigan last August, and this is one of my Favourite tourist spots. I love the historical look of the souvenir shops and houses. You can also ride "Kalesa" for a cheap price and they will tour you around Vigan.
Most cities in England have a Cathedral, but it is an often a mistaken belief that a city must have one to qualify as a city. It does not, and is actually dependent on whether a “Royal Charter” has been granted. Portsmouth is unusual insofar as it has 2 x Cathedrals; a Roman Catholic and and Anglican one. This is the Anglican one in area of the city known as “Old Portsmouth” and is seen here from Camber Dock after the storm clouds have passed over.
Several heavy rain showers have affected North Hampshire and Whitehill. The rain has passed, but the clouds that brought some of them are now backlit by the setting Sun.
This picture is taken from the Bordon and Whitehill Relief Road which follows the course of the old Railway that used to pass through the area.
