Haven Street is a station on the preserved Isle of White Steam Railway. One of the (original) concrete station signs is seen here in festive attire with the Moon high above! On the former Southern Railway network in the UK there are still many examples of structures made with concrete at the famous, but now closed, Exmouth Junction works.

Hunslet Tank Engine Number 98 “Royal Engineer” has arrived from Wooton at Smallbrook Junction. It has now run round its train and is awaiting the Signal to draw forward and then shunt back to return and couple to its train in the platform. This is on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway! The weather looks nice, but the wind was unseasonably cold for July 2024 with several heavy rain showers rattling through during the day!

The penultimate service on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway makes it’s way in light steam back towards Havenstreet from Smallbrook Junction on a lovely Summer’s evening! The tail light on the back of the train will soon vanish around the curve and tranquility will soon return to Smallbrook Junction.
