A kaleidoscope of colour! An old sandstone embankment where, after years of Army tanks driving past on their training missions, a deep passage has been carved through some slightly elevated ground. I find the sheer variety of mosses and lichens that now cover these banks to be absolutely fascinating - especially when you look at them in close-up detail.

The Hogmoor Enclosure nature reserve in Hampshire, South of England.
