Lunar Eclipse.
A “Lunar Eclipse” occurs when the Earth passes directly in front of the Sun and the Moon. The shadow appears as a dark area on the bright lunar surface and is sometimes known as a “Blood Moon” given the orange/brown shadow.
This shot taken on Bembridge Down on the Isle of Wight shows a clear crescent of the Moon and shadowed outline of the rest of it.
This picture was taken approximately 80 x minutes after the Eclipse has started.
