Camber Dock is in Portsmouth a city on the South Coast of England. It is an important military and commercial port, and the home of the UK’s Royal Navy. In this shot from Camber Dock, the landmark Spinnaker Tower, Ben Ainslie Sailing Centre, Gunwharf Ferry Terminal and the wonderful Bridge Tavern can be seen against the backdrop of the passing storm clouds. High tide is also approaching as can be seen by the water levels in the Dock.

Most cities in England have a Cathedral, but it is an often a mistaken belief that a city must have one to qualify as a city. It does not, and is actually dependent on whether a “Royal Charter” has been granted. Portsmouth is unusual insofar as it has 2 x Cathedrals; a Roman Catholic and and Anglican one. This is the Anglican one in area of the city known as “Old Portsmouth” and is seen here from Camber Dock after the storm clouds have passed over.

Sometimes ships work in sunset photos - and sometimes they don't! I did try to crop this one but when I removed the ship from the photo - whilst trying to maintain a sensible aspect ratio - I found I was losing some of that lovely glow of the sunset reflected in the water. So I decided to just leave the photo as it is! Pacific Ocean - somewhere near the Northern Marianas Photo taken from onboard the Cable Ship SEGERO

Bath City appeal in vain for a “Handball” offence in their 2-1 defeat to Aldershot Town in the FA Cup at Aldershot. This was Aldershot’s first goal of the afternoon and the tie was won in the 8th minute of stoppage time with Aldershot’s second goal. The FA Cup is the oldest “Knockout” football competition in the world having been founded in the 19th Century. This is also the first time Aldershot have met Bath City in a “Senior” game and the first time an Aldershot side have met a Bath City side in any competition since 1939!

According to the plaque, the sculpture entitled "Landed" is by Les Johnson and it was cast at the Bronze Age Foundry in 2008. The plaque reads: "LANDED" This sculpture has been erected as a tribute to the history of the communities of the Royal Docks and the men and women who worked there from 1855 -1983. Funded by a charitable appeal supported by the Royal Docks Trust (London). www.royaldockstrust.org.uk Sculptor Les Johnson Bronze Age Foundry4 points

'Bit of an obvious image title - but, sometimes, less is more!! 'Just a not so big cumulous cloud, out in the Pacific Ocean - somewhere in the generl area of the Northern Mariana Islands. (Just after the sun had had gone down - with one edge of the cloud glowing in a lovely salmony-pink from a glorious sunset!) I was at the wrong end of the ship - (doing my evening exercises!) - to get a decent shot of the sunset, but I will upload what I have, anyway... The hottest day on record in Manila in April 2024 sees a huge thunderstorm building to the North of the city. Unfortunately it came to nothing and the city went on sweltering. This view from Bonifacio Garden City appears to show a flying saucer, but it is likely a reflection of a light from within the building where the picture was taken.
