  4. Camber Dock is in Portsmouth a city on the South Coast of England. It is an important military and commercial port, and the home of the UK’s Royal Navy. In this shot from Camber Dock, the landmark Spinnaker Tower, Ben Ainslie Sailing Centre, Gunwharf Ferry Terminal and the wonderful Bridge Tavern can be seen against the backdrop of the passing storm clouds. High tide is also approaching as can be seen by the water levels in the Dock.

  7. Taken in Hampshire, Southern England on a Sunny Autumn morning, the sky is busy with flights heading West and East. Many of the vapour trails are Transatlantic flights but also many are heading to/from Spain according to “Flightradar.”

  11. Most cities in England have a Cathedral, but it is an often a mistaken belief that a city must have one to qualify as a city. It does not, and is actually dependent on whether a “Royal Charter” has been granted. Portsmouth is unusual insofar as it has 2 x Cathedrals; a Roman Catholic and and Anglican one. This is the Anglican one in area of the city known as “Old Portsmouth” and is seen here from Camber Dock after the storm clouds have passed over.

  14. Sometimes ships work in sunset photos - and sometimes they don't! I did try to crop this one but when I removed the ship from the photo - whilst trying to maintain a sensible aspect ratio - I found I was losing some of that lovely glow of the sunset reflected in the water. So I decided to just leave the photo as it is! Pacific Ocean - somewhere near the Northern Marianas Photo taken from onboard the Cable Ship SEGERO

  15. Bath City appeal in vain for a “Handball” offence in their 2-1 defeat to Aldershot Town in the FA Cup at Aldershot. This was Aldershot’s first goal of the afternoon and the tie was won in the 8th minute of stoppage time with Aldershot’s second goal. The FA Cup is the oldest “Knockout” football competition in the world having been founded in the 19th Century. This is also the first time Aldershot have met Bath City in a “Senior” game and the first time an Aldershot side have met a Bath City side in any competition since 1939!

  38. The Raynes Park Vale Goalkeeper makes a crucial save in the Isthmian League fixture against Farnham Town! Farnham went on to win 2-1 to cement their top of the table position. This is quite a low level of football (several levels below the English Premier League) but just under 1000 people watched the game. In context crowds at this level are usually about 100!

  39. What used to be a nice view of Manila Bay, a few blocks in from Roxas Blvd., is now fast disappearing behind a seemingly never-ending stream of new high-rise buildings. Not that there will be much of the Bay left to admire from the new buildings either - since the construction of a new artificial island has commenced.

  40. one of the most beautiful streets in the Philippines, Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. We visited Vigan last August, and this is one of my Favourite tourist spots. I love the historical look of the souvenir shops and houses. You can also ride "Kalesa" for a cheap price and they will tour you around Vigan.

  45. The Red Squirrel Trail is a cycleway and footpath on the Isle of Wight. Between Shanklin and Wroxall the path follows the old railway (which closed in 1966) before diverting away. Sadly the remaining old railway route onto the terminus in Ventnor is largely inaccessible and/or built over.
