  1. A South Western Railway service formed of Class 450 Desiro stock heads away from Petersfield towards Portsmouth with the South Downs in the distance on a beautiful late Spring evening. After a few miles, the train passes through a tunnel under the hill on the left.

  2. A Class 450 South Western Railway Desiro passes the River Wey water meadows at Godalming, Surrey on the way to Portsmouth.

  3. Town Bridge spans the River Wey in Godalming, a town in Surrey, England. Taken on a bright, sunny, but cold Springtime afternoon. The River Wey rises as the South Wey in nearby Haslemere, and the North Wey at Alton in Hampshire. They merge at Tilford in Surrey and flow ultimately into the River Thames at Weybridge.

  4. This bridge across the River Wey is very interesting as it once housed 2 x Waterwheels which powered an old iron foundry. The foundry ceased operating in the 19th Century and there is little evidence now apart from this bridge and its abutments. Some old iron ore “slag” can still be found around the site, though. This is located at Hammer, a village where the county boundaries of Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire meet just outside Haslemere. The view is spoilt a bit by the water pipe crossing in front of the bridge (this is much more recent) and the author does not know where this pipe goes to or from.

  5. There has been snow overnight in the English village of Grayshott on the Surrey/Hampshire border. The snow has passed and a beautiful sunny Winter morning has dawned. This picture shows the Parish Church of St Luke’s across the village green

    Inline Hockey!

Played to the same rules as Ice Hockey, but on skates, this is an action shot from Mustangs 5-4 victory over Oxford Blue. This was played at Bisley in Surrey, England!

  7. This is the Keep of Guildford Castle in Surrey, South East England, which was established in the 13th Century and was the County Gaol for many years until at least the 18th Century. Although the earthworks remain, many of the castle features have now vanished, but the Keep remains.

  8. Guildford is regarded as the “County Town” of the County of Surrey in South East England. This view is taken from the ruins of Guildford Castle and looks across the town to the Cathedral on Stag Hill around 2 x miles away. Guildford is often mistakenly considered as a city as it has a Cathedral, but although the granting of city status has been applied for in the past, the Royal Warrant has never been given.

  10. Wisley in Surrey, England is the home to one of the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Garden. In December they have a night event wher3 the Gardens are lit by lasers and multi colour lights. This is a view of the Glasshouse!

  11. RHS Wisley is a huge garden in Surrey just a mile South of the London Orbital Motorway, the M25. A freezing fog has sat over the garden for several days and produces this beautiful view.

  14. The freezing fog has not lifted for a couple of days, but the Sun tries hard to dispel it over RHS Wisley Gardens in Surrey.
