The railway from Merstone to Ventnor was the first route to close on the Isle of Wight. The once quite scenic route last saw a train almost 70 x years to the day this picture was taken in September 2022. The pictures shows the Southern (Ventnor end) of St Lawrence Tunnel ( sometimes know as High Hat Tunnel) as it looks today.
