  10. Unfortunately the photographer didn’t record which vessel this was but it is either Wight Ryder I or Wight Ryder II on the 20:20 Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier sailing. The Sun is setting on a hot day and the Solent is a perfect calm.

  11. It is almost 23:00 hrs and the Sun set almost 2 x hours previously. However the sky is still bright and the Sun below the horizon lights the clouds. This contrasts with the street lighting and house lighting in Hampshire, England.

  12. Most of the Hogmoor Inclosure in England is in early twilight, but a shaft of Sunlight still pitches in from the West from the low Sun. This phenomena occurs in a particular part of the forest due to the geography of the hills and building to the West and the slight incline of the path into the forest. If you were of such belief, you could think this is an entrance to an enchanted fairy kingdom!

  18. A “Lunar Eclipse” occurs when the Earth passes directly in front of the Sun and the Moon. The shadow appears as a dark area on the bright lunar surface and is sometimes known as a “Blood Moon” given the orange/brown shadow. This shot taken on Bembridge Down on the Isle of Wight shows a clear crescent of the Moon and shadowed outline of the rest of it. This picture was taken approximately 80 x minutes after the Eclipse had started.
