Most HST units in the UK have now been withdrawn, but quite a few Australian cousin XPT Units are still in service! This is the already 34 x min late 12:47 departure for Grafton!

  20. Presumably, that will be the old Warehouse W with steam billowing out from a vent somewhere round the back? It was the steam that caught my eye... A very atmospheric view, I thought, on a cold January day in the redeveloped Royal Victoria Dock area.

5 am morning jog along Bayan Luma Street, Imus, Cavite. Fewer people and vehicles took me a lot of courage to do this again. The last time I jogged in the street was before the pandemic. 😅

Situated about 1.5 x miles from Bordon in Hampshire in Hollywater, the author has been coming here for over 42 x years. After a long period of closure between 2021 and 2023 it re-opened in November 2023 and this is an outside view on the first anniversary party in November 2024!

  35. The Raynes Park Vale Goalkeeper makes a crucial save in the Isthmian League fixture against Farnham Town! Farnham went on to win 2-1 to cement their top of the table position. This is quite a low level of football (several levels below the English Premier League) but just under 1000 people watched the game. In context crowds at this level are usually about 100!

  36. There is far more to football than the English Premier League or German Bundesliga etc. This is goalmouth action from the Portsmouth Senior Cup match between Petersfield Town and United Services Portsmouth. The game is played with as much (if not more) passion than any higher level and represents what many believe is the REAL game. The match finished 0-0, but Petersfield won 5-3 on Penalties, this being a “knockout” cup match.

  37. What used to be a nice view of Manila Bay, a few blocks in from Roxas Blvd., is now fast disappearing behind a seemingly never-ending stream of new high-rise buildings. Not that there will be much of the Bay left to admire from the new buildings either - since the construction of a new artificial island has commenced.

  40. Most of the Hogmoor Inclosure in England is in early twilight, but a shaft of Sunlight still pitches in from the West from the low Sun. This phenomena occurs in a particular part of the forest due to the geography of the hills and building to the West and the slight incline of the path into the forest. If you were of such belief, you could think this is an entrance to an enchanted fairy kingdom!
