Benjemin - One (Pastel painting of a German Shepherd dog) Well. The landscape background might be a bit crude but I can honestly say that this is the first painting that I have made that I am truly satisfied with!! I could say that I was deliberately concentrating on the dog, in order to "bring it forward" or something - but that would be a lie. Notwithstanding, after three years of trying hard, I can honestly say that I am damned chuffed with this one! Four months in the making - (interrupted by the necessity to go back to sea four three months and earn some pennies) - but I got there in the end! And OK... I must admit, I am currently struggling with "Benjamin - Two" but, hey, after three years of struggle, I am not complaining if they don't all come out right first time. One good one that I am personally satisfied with is good enough for me! Image Description: From a photo of my friend, Mr Timothy Penycate's German Shepherd (Alsation) dog. My Pit Bull Terrier, Shoubi, making herself at home! October, 2007 - Philippines Shoubi has lost a bit of weight, lately. She has become very fussy with what she will and will not eat. Argentina corned beef just WILL NOT do, anymore. Nor will most of what I am quite happy to eat myself! Lately, I just found out that she is quite partial to "tinapa," (a kind of smoked, sardine, I think?!) Only problem is, tinapa is quite expensive - especially in the kind of quantities that Shoubi would need in order to make her fat again...?!!

...and a big pink tongue! This is my best mate, Benjamin - Tim Penycate's beautiful German Shepherd dog. Benj is another RSPCA rescue dog. Not a pedigree but pretty well pure German Shepherd. (I'm not sure where the crooked tail comes from but it in no way alters the fact that Benj is one of the most handsome dogs that I have ever come across!) Here he is, full of energy and really enjoying a day out on M.o.D land at Woolmer Forest, Whitehill, Hampshire, in the South of England, UK -

Dhen-dhen, a young Filipino boy at play with his best friend, a mongrel dog called "Pandak" "Pandak" is a Tagalog word, which roughly translates as "Shorty!" I remember that these two were always the best of friends. Dhen-dhen obviously seems to think that Pandak might like some sand?!! The photo was taken while staying with a Filipino family on a remote farm in Mindanao in the Southern part of the Philippines.
