Wight Ryder II arrives at Ryde Pier Head from Portsmouth Harbour, ready to go back with 23:10 sailing back from Ryde Pier Head. This is the last sailing of the day. The Covid pandemic affected public transport quite badly in the UK in 2020 and 2021 and mostly (but not all) it has returned to what it was in 2019, but it has been a slow process. In March 2023 Wightlink (the operator) restored a lot of its services lost during that terrible period for the world. The restoration of these services are VERY welcome!

Wightlink Car ferries MV Victoria of Wight and MV St Faith are at Camber Dock in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf area. Controversially MV Victoria of Wight, which is Wightlink’s biggest ferry, is out of service with an engine fault which is causing mass disruption to the service across the Solent!

Wightlink’s Car Ferry “Victoria of Wight” is sailing across the Solent from Portsmouth Gunwharf to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. In the meantime the “Morning Post” belonging to the Eukor shipping line (a vehicle transporter) approaches from Southampton at the start of a long journey which will see her ultimately arrive in Durban, South Africa.
