About Me

Found 14 results

  1. St Faith is the smallest car ferry on the Wightlink service between Portsmouth Gunwharf and Ryde Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. She is seen here passing Gosport on the way out of Portsmouth Harbour on the 16:30 sailing.

  2. Wight Ryder II arrives at Ryde Pier in calm waters on the 15:15 Wightlink sailing across the Solent from Portsmouth Harbour on a sunny September afternoon. It will now form the 15:45 sailing back.

  3. Victoria of Wight is the largest and newest Wightlink vessel on the cross Solent car ferry between Portsmouth Gunwharf and Fishbourne on the Isle o& Wight. She is seen here docking at Fishbourne on a lovely Sunny day on the 11:00 sailing from Portsmouth ready for the 12:20 crossing back.

  4. A familiar view of Camber Dock in Portsmouth with the MV Victoria of Wight in the distance waiting to sail on the 17:00 departure to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. In the foreground, waiting its next sailing is the MV St Claire with the iconic Spinnaker Tower visible to the right, and the Ben Ainslee sailing centre to the left ( or should that be “Starboard” or “Port”)?

  5. A wonderfully cluttered view of Camber Dock in Old Portsmouth! Local fishing vessels jostle with Wightlink ferries against the backdrop of the wonderful Bridge Tavern, Ben Ainslie Sailing Centre and the iconic lipstick shaped Number 1 Gunwharf Quays tower block.

  6. Wight Ryder II arrives at Ryde Pier Head from Portsmouth Harbour, ready to go back with 23:10 sailing back from Ryde Pier Head. This is the last sailing of the day. The Covid pandemic affected public transport quite badly in the UK in 2020 and 2021 and mostly (but not all) it has returned to what it was in 2019, but it has been a slow process. In March 2023 Wightlink (the operator) restored a lot of its services lost during that terrible period for the world. The restoration of these services are VERY welcome!

  7. Wightlink Car ferries MV Victoria of Wight and MV St Faith are at Camber Dock in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf area. Controversially MV Victoria of Wight, which is Wightlink’s biggest ferry, is out of service with an engine fault which is causing mass disruption to the service across the Solent!

  8. Wightlink’s Car Ferry “Victoria of Wight” is sailing across the Solent from Portsmouth Gunwharf to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight. In the meantime the “Morning Post” belonging to the Eukor shipping line (a vehicle transporter) approaches from Southampton at the start of a long journey which will see her ultimately arrive in Durban, South Africa.

  9. HMS Queen Elizabeth arrived back from a trip to the USA and sits alongside her dock in Portsmouth Harbour. In the meantime, Wightlink’s Wight Ryder II sets sail on the 16:15 sailing from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde.

  10. MV Victoria of Wight arrives in Portsmouth Harbour from Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight.

  11. MV St Clare goes astern into Portsmouth Gunwharf port.

  12. Wight Ryder II leaves Portsmouth Harbour on the 17:15 sailing to Ryde Pier Head.

  13. A hot August day draws to a close as the "MV Victoria of Wight" sails from Fishbourne to Portsmouth Gunwharf.

  14. Wightlink ferries, "Victoria of Wight" and "St Faith" pass just off of Fishbourne Ferry Terminal on the Isle of Wight.
