A rather dramatic sunset over Manila Bay. The lovely orange light was the result of an earlier heavy tropical rain and thunder storm. With La Nobleza Terezzas under construction in the foreground1 point -

From the album: Drawings and sketches
This was a practice sketch that I made back in 2005 when I first started trying to get back into art. My inspiration was a really good book that managed to convince me that I could draw! Personally, I think that this is the one book that every aspiring artist should read, before anything else... The book is called Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and, after 15 years, I would still highly recommend it.1 point -

High rise buildings on the banks of the Jao Praya River. Two of the buildings on the river bank are the Millenium Hilton Bangkok and The Peninsula Bangkok hotels. (All very expensive properties!!) Photo taken from the Saphan Taksin Bridge. I didn't have my tripod with me but, after many attempts, I actually managed to get this shot without any camera shake. 'Pure luck in the end - but quite an achievement with all the heavy trucks thundering by and shaking the bridge every few seconds! (I had a well-earned beer or six, after taking this one!!) ???1 point -

My Siberian Husky, Mei-mei is the unlikely new companion of my lovely pit bull-terrier, Shoubi. I couldn't stand seeing her couped-up in a tiny cage in a pet shop here in the Philippines. After three months away on work, I was dismayed to find that she was still in the same tiny cage in the same pet shop and I decided it was time for her to get out of there! After several months living in a cage that she could hardly turn around in, needless to say, Mei-mei is now making the most out of her new found freedom to run around and enjoy herself. (In fact, she can be a bit of a nuisance at times - but despite her neurotic habits, she is extremely loving and very lovable!) I couldn't help smiling at the way she found this little mound to rest on. The look on her face seems to be saying, "Look at me! I'm on top of a big mountain!!"?!!!1 point -

My second dog, Bruce. An RSPCA resue dog, he spent many a happy year in the fairly large garden of our old house in Bordon, Hampshire, (UK) Bruce was a guard dog par-excellence - but at the same time, he was also unbelievably good with children. I remember hearing a whimpering noise one time... I went into the sitting-room to find my then 2 year-old daughter sitting on his back twisting and pulling his long fur. Not even a warning growl - he just lay there whimpering. He wouldn't even stand up for fear of tipping my daughter off his back and hurting her...1 point -

Shoubi, a really soppy Pit Bull Terrier bitch that I bought from one of my neighbors here in the Philippines. (I had been taking care of her for the previous year, in order to save her from being kept couped up in a tiny little cage... By the time her previous owners decided to sell her, I had already become quite attached to Shoubi and I couldn't stand the thought of her being bought by someone else and spending the rest of her life on a short piece of chain - or in another small cage...) Eddie Boy is the guy who looks after Shoubi for me when I am away and he often takes her for walks even when I am home. I think Shoubi loves Eddie more than me - but that's OK... Just as long as she is happy!1 point -

One of the guard dogs at the Madilosa family residence in Davao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines. (I sometimes stay with the madilosa family when I am in that part of the country.) I don't think this dog has a name - I just call him "Scruffy!" He's looking very pleased with himself here as he has just got back from a long walk around the rice paddies!1 point -

My mate, Tim Penycate's dog. Another RSPCA rescue dog. Not a pedigree but pretty well pure German Shepherd. (I'm not sure where the crooked tail comes from but it in no way alters the fact that Benj is one of the most handsome dogs that I have ever come across!) Here he is, full of energy and really enjoying a day out on M.o.D land at Whitehill in Hampshire, UK1 point
