About Me

  1. It is a waste of time (and expensive art materials,) in trying to force yourself to paint when you are not in the mood. Here are a few personal tips on getting oneself motivated and finding the time to do some art: 1. Have a source of income other than art, so that you can paint when you feel like it - not just when you need money for food, rent and beer! 2. Have a bit of space, (a spare room, well-lit garage - or even just a corner of the living room if you are not lucky enough to have your own studio,) where you can leave all of your gear out. That way, when the mood strikes, you will not have the bother of getting all your art materials and accoutrements out before you can even start. This is a great way of maximizing your precious painting time... 3. Unplug the computer! 4. Unplug the TV 5. Put on some nice music. 6. Take the dogs for a walk first. Get them tired-out - and then you can concentrate on your art! 7. Open a can of cold beer or a bottle of nice red wine. 8. Get some painting done before you fall asleep!

  3. 04-07-2012, Today I took a step in my plan to make a difference in the art world. Over the years I have worked in sales and marketing but my heart has always belong to the world of art. As a high school art student, I fell in love with copper etching. oils and pastels were ok but I could not get enough of the copper etching portion of the class. Once the class ended and I could not find a way to continue on my own, I experienced withdrawals. My desire to be an artist begin to burn out and finally I turned to sports to file the void. Over the years I would dabble in oil painting projects but I could not rekindle that fire that once burned within me. It was not until I met an unknown artist by the name of Jay Burley that I begin to understand my place in the Art World. That brings me to The Curator's Shadow, the Art Book. I begin trying to help Jay get his work seen by the world. We put his work on Tee Shirts and other clothing, even coffee cups. His work was all over the web, Youtube, Myspace even Facebook. Working with Jay reminded me of all the talented people I have come across with limited or no way to get their work seen by the public in a way that would do justice to their talent. The Art Book was the answer, a way to record a piece of history that would last and be shared for years to come. The Curator's Shadow will become a National Treasure, showcasing the work of artist the future may someday label great masters. To give our new website a look see click here

  6. (Boken link - removed by smb) This piece was inspired by several artists including J3Concepts and Kate McInnes, but it is actually the first painting I have ever created that I have not copied from somewhere else. I am quite proud of it, and plan on doing other pieces in a similar style in the future. However before I do, I would like some advice on what needs help and what I could improve. Anything and everything is helpful! (:
