Painted on a real window pane for my brother. A lot of prep work required to paint oil on glass. Do not recommend.3 points -

Petworth Station in West Sussex last saw a train in 1966, but today is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast Hotel. Some of the accommodation is based in 4 x Beautifully restored Pullman Coaches built circa 1914. This view shows 4 of the Coaches (a fifth one is under restoration) on a Sunny October morning.

With the downs above Ventnor in the distance, Shanklin Station glows in the late Dusk. The Sun has gone, the temperature has dropped and the lights are on. A few passengers are waiting for the train back to Ryde Pier Head in the cold evening. Shanklin is the end of the line for trains on Island Line, but the railway once carried on another 5 x miles or so to Ventnor.

The last ocean going paddle steamer, the PV Waverley spends it life providing pleasure cruises around the UK. Here she is in the calm waters of the Solent heading to Portsmouth Harbour ready for a cruise around the Isle of Wight. This picture was taken from aboard Wight Ryder I crossing to the Isle of Wight, and there is a bit of grime on the windows!

Partial log. Level Vermilion Clearance Required. "Using the best minds in the fields of science, those of the most devout and powerful of the Church, we set forth on this colossal undertaking, in which Mankind itself would finally reach the ever coveted dream of witnessing the father of creation. With the backing of several [REDACTED] Governments, we set about an attempt to create a proxy, with which we may be able to not only reach but commune with God himself. The initial sci3=02kk... [Data Corrupt] "... never thought we, men of science, men of faith would ever have to acknowledge, let alone harness the power of the mystic arts once thought to be superstition, judged to be that of rituals and spirit communion of barbarians and madmen. In su9s_29u!88/8..." [Data Corrupt] "We have accomplished a feat never thought possible, yes, there was losses and accidents but...the scale of our accomplishment overshadows everything else. We've come to call it 'The Idol' our proxy between worlds, dimensions, universes... It is... an ugly thing, using [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] with mixed machine parts to become a [REDACTED] of biological, mechanical and... [REDACTED] function. We will be starting the activation process tomorrow. "and when it spoke, it's jaws cracked wide, distended, it was no word, it was an incomprehensible scream of absolute horror. The result was catastrophic, those too close to the chamber were killed instantly. Their heads exploding like a ripe watermelons, they were the lucky ones. Those further out had their ears and eyes blown out and if they did not perish from that, then the onset of instant and brutally violent Psychosis eventually did. Myself and the more senior staff we're luckily shielded by some form of [REDACTED] Wards.. I can still hear the screaming in my dreams..." Final Entry. Edited. "Those of us left, managed to rig a very simple device to try and communicate with The Idol, with varying degrees of success. Eventually we managed to set up a [REDACTED] using [REDACTED] The words I'm about to type come straight from The Idol. I'm so sorry, forgive me: "GOD, HE who created all, HE, beloved of all, is dead!" -Footage recovered from the site shows that 'The Idol' broke free of it's restraints, it's physical form corrupting and practically crumbling. It then reduced everything in a 30 mile radius to rubble, means unknown before we lost visual.- The Idol announced Humanity needs to be punished and has such wiped out most of the planet, with it's grief and rage it brought forth the apocalypse, we weren't prepared for this. On a dull Summer day, with a stopping train bound for London Waterloo in the background, a Buddleia bush in full beautiful bloom adorns the now abandoned Alton Platform. Buddleia grows like crazy and has beautiful and fragrant flowers which attract bees and other insects. It is very common across the UK railway network!

The Royal Oak is a legendary pub in the tiny hamlet of Hollywater in Hampshire (between Liphook and Whitehill). After being closed for over 2 x years, it re-opened in November 2023 and is again proving popular. The Sun is setting on New Years Eve 2023 and unfortunately heavy rain isn’t too far away, but let’s hope the Sun never sets again on the Royal Oak!

"It's been a hell of a hike and it's hot, so hot. Between your ragged breathing and the rustle of foliage you catch the sound of rushing water and hope there may be a stream near by where you could take a well earned break. Stumbling through the teeming plant life, your breath issues in an owed gasp as you glance up at the rushing waterfall, droplets of water catching the almost angelic rays of sunlight that pierce the canopy and looking as if glittering gems... It's then you notice the large but clearly very femanine form of a Lizard as she sits perched atop a mossy rock at the base of the waterfall, dipping toe claws in the water as her deep, Morganite eyes study you from within the sockets of her skull headdress"2 points
