  1. Culver Down is a cliff at the Eastern side of the Isle of Wight. Heavy rain over the city of Portsmouth (north of Culver and across the Solent) and sunshine from the Isle of Wight creates a rainbow over the cliff.

  2. Rain is still evident across the Solent, but all is calm across Sandown Bay looking towards Culver.

    Rainbow

Some unseasonably cold and wet days in the UK has seen heavy rain showers and strong Sunshine. A recent rain shower has passed and the Sun pitching in from the West creates a beautiful Rainbow above Whitehill in Hampshire. If there is truth about the “Crock of Gold” at the end of the Rainbow, then it is in the “Great Wall” Chinese takeaway! 😆

  4. The opposite side of the Basingstoke Rainbow, over the railway tracks. Is the crock of gold here at RAF Odiham appx 5 x miles away from where the rainbow appears to end?

  5. A heavy shower has passed over Basingstoke and the setting Sun is now pitching in from the West producing this beautiful bright rainbow. Is the crock of gold inside the building? Sadly not!

  6. A gale force Westerley wind is blowing off the Solent across Ryde Pier on the Isle of Wight. There has been a lot of heavy rain, but this has passed by. However a squally shower is passing over the city of Portsmouth which is being caught in the setting Sun causing this beautiful, but short lived rainbow.

  7. A heavy rain shower and bright sunshine combine to form a beautiful rainbow across the Solent. The city of Portsmouth is obscured by the rain on the right of the picture. This shot was taken from the Ryde Castle Hotel in Ryde, Isle of Wight.

  8. A bright rainbow against the dark sky in Haslemere following heavy rain.

    Crock of Gold?

They say there is a "Crock of Gold" at the end of a rainbow, so it must be in the fireplace below this chimney!

  10. A heavy rain shower is seconds away with the late evening sun shining onto the dark clouds and producing a beautiful rainbow.

    Double Rainbow

The storm has passed and the bright sunlight creates a double Rainbow on the rain as it moves away.

  12. A wintery scene over Somerset fields, looking towards Cheddar Gorge. I almost missed this! The rainbow was a glorious full arc, when I first spotted it. So I rushed inside to get my cellhone but, by the time I got back outside, there was only half of the rainbow left.
  13. Traditionally there is said to be a crock of gold at the end of a rainbow. Perhaps this is proof it's really where one comes from?

  14. From the album: Test Album

Just testing the multi-upload functionality of the Gallery. It seems to be working OK now. (I believe that members should now be able to select up to 10 images at a time for uploading to the Gallery...)
