Hey all. I'm a struggling amature comic arist, I LOVE producing comics but struggle to make interesting and dynamic pannels. That and I can't seem to be able to keep my drive long enough to maintain constant production. SO! Anyone got an ideas, hits or tips that may help? Cheers.

There is noting wrong with an "older art". This painting is great. There is much older paintings then that one. Lets see the renaissance paintings. Do you know haw they were painted?

That is a very nice painting, the dew on the petals and leaves look so realistic. I can see how you work with the colors and it really catches the emotion of the person looking at the painting.

A few days ago, I got into a discussion with my uncle who feels that there's really no need for anyone to study film much more to take up an immersion course for a year. I'm 21 and I decided to take an immersion film course at the International Academy of Film and Television. (Link deleted by smb...) ('Blowed my parents mind off when I told them it was in Asia!). Although I understand where he is coming from, I beg to disagree with him on a lot of things. If there's anything that I've learned is school is that film making demands the integration of many kinds of knowledge and skill that one gets from hands-on training, classroom instruction and actual film production. These are the why's that help you answer the how's!

And why should Google consider that a link on ArtFreaks.com to another website for artists should be bad? Well, only Google can answer that but I am guessing that it's because they don't really like forums-based sites and, maybe, they also think that ArtFreaks.com is crap?! What website owners want these days are relevant "quality links" from "quality websites." I am sorry if the major search engines don't consider ArtFreaks.com as a quality website but if other crap sites have been posting their crap links here - and now they want them removed - well that is their problem, not mine!

Max Weber observes that both for sociology and for history the object of cognition is subjective meaning. This subjective meaning is both the basis for and the complex of action. The point here is not that "anything goes," but rather that "everything is contingent"; not that there are no rules, but that the rules that do exist are decidedly "historically and culturally situated." REENCHANTMENT The great sociologist, some say the greatest, Max Weber, wrote about the reenchantment of the world. The phrase has come to be used in many contexts by sociologists and philosophers, scholars and social scientist specialists in various disciplines. This writer, this poet, sees the reenchantment of the world as having its beginnings with the Enlightenment and the birth of Shaykh Ahmad in the middle of the 18th century. Interesting post, jazz was a revolutionary movement that obviously took a long time to resonate with the mainstream. This speaks volume to the nature of human beings and thought. Very few human beings are open to new ideas that conflict with their deep core of beliefs. Even to this day people have a hard time accepting and comprehending Einstein's theory of relativity. The good thing is that new generation always come in to lay a new foundation in thought.

For some people no sense is common sense.

many musicians do not know the complexidy of sound. as much as i love the band "TOOL" they prefer to use a small more compact sound range. where Radiohead uses an aray of sounds that add to the song... here is "everything in its right place" by radiohead:

Comment: I have about 3,000 hours of life drawing practice - only practice -in my studio, professional training connected to the analysis of graphic expressions and unspeakable pain and dedication. Betty Edwards is good, I have two of her books and agree with most of her theories. However, I do not think it is necessary to go through so complicated exercises. The time can be used more effectively. One must have a serious goal before him. All he has to do is to get rid of unhealthy opinions which alter perfect incoming information into a display of deficiencies on the paper. Modern artists do not seem capable of any sacrifices. Even some of the famous ones. An illustration from Mr. Herringer's book "Zen in the art of archery": The Master explains the principle - (it's rather difficult to get without long experience...) 1 Knock the arrow 2 Draw 3 Do not shoot, IT shoots! Hello there! I'm a person who enjoys arts and crafts. I am into fashion sewing, ikebana a japanese style flower arrangement and painting. I spend my days doing these activities. I am currently enrolled at Slim's fashion school in Makati to obtain a formal knowledge on sewing. I'm trying to pursue a second course, painting. I'm interested to meet people with the same hobbies so we can share tips and share each other's work online.

IAFT is a film school that offers courses which combine theory, practice, and application. We offer our students the experience of hands-on-training with Hollywood professionals who serve as our faculty mentors. We also offer our students the opportunity to have applied industry experience with our sister company Bigfoot Entertainment. Our expectation is to train quality industry professionals who can then be recruited to work in Bigfoot Entertainment or other industry-related businesses.

If you're just wanting to go out and do a little Karaoke, I like to go to Tony's Bar...It is a little bit of a dive, but the drinks are cheap and they have the best Karaoke equipment & song selection in town. It's also kinda fun to watch some of the INTERESTING customers come in and out. Some nicer places in Dubuque to go are The Europa Haus, a great little German bar and restaurant. They have an awesome selection of German Beer and also domestic and resonably priced mixed drinks, which are served quite strong! Also, Bricktown is quite popular-they have a restaurant as well and they have live bands and comedians come in, they do have a cover charge , though. One of my favorite places in Dubuqe has to be The Busted Lift. This is a really cool Irish pub; they, of course, have a variety of Irish (and other) imported beer. They bring in some bands and the last I knew, they had Open Mike nights once a week-Tuesdays?-if you are an aspiring singer/song writer. This pub is wonderful!! Great atmospere.

Well, that's for social aspects. I just got fed up with my classmate who is only open for the ideals. He keeps on criticizing realistic plans and suggestions instead of the idealistic ones. And the one thing that I hate the most, is that the only right person is HIMSELF...he never shuts up. Have you also encountered those kind of people?

I've taken a photography course at college and it's pretty awesome. You get to basically do anything you want (except eat or drink in the darkroom :roll: ). We were recently told to do some research on one of the greatest photographers of our time - Man Ray. He had a completely unique style and hated doing anything by the rule book. He was so against doing things how they apparently had to be done that in one of his most famous forms of photography - the Ray-o-gram - he completely removes the camera from the process all together.
