  1. Just as well you weren’t watching anything naughty in the laptop, eh?,😉
  2. Caught over Aldershot in England, 4 x RAF Typhoons fly in a formation from South to North. The “Flight Radar” map identifies the aircraft, but not the point of origin or destination!

    Crock of Gold?

The end of the main rainbow seems to come to ground in the Forest Centre in Bordon, England. Despite looking hard, the author could not find the promised crock of gold!

    Double Rainbow

A bright sunny November day is briefly interrupted by a heavy rain shower, which produced this beautiful double rainbow over Bordon in England.

  5. The Spinnaker Tower is a Portsmouth landmark on Gunwharf Quays alongside Portsmouth Harbour. This view at dusk, was taken from the nearby Spice Island area of the city.

  6. A cold November day sees the setting sun across Portsmouth Harbout over the former HMS Dolphin building. Although a nice, but cold day, the clouds indicate a change of weather is coming and indeed over the next 12 x hours almost 1.5 x inches of rain fell!

  7. Situated on the railway between Farnham and Alton (in Wrecclesham) sits River Lane bridge. This was constructed in 1852 and still carries trains across it some 172 x years later. This view was on a wet Sunday afternoon walking up River Lane towards Farnham.

  8. One of the men at the door thought I was taking pictures of them, but I explained it was just the pub I wanted being the celebration it was!

    So close!

The Raynes Park Vale Goalkeeper makes a crucial save in the Isthmian League fixture against Farnham Town! Farnham went on to win 2-1 to cement their top of the table position. This is quite a low level of football (several levels below the English Premier League) but just under 1000 people watched the game. In context crowds at this level are usually about 100!

  10. An English pub well known to both the author of this post and the owner of this website! Situated about 1.5 x miles from Bordon in Hampshire in Hollywater, the author has been coming here for over 42 x years. After a long period of closure between 2021 and 2023 it re-opened in November 2023 and this is an outside view on the first anniversary party in November 2024!

    Goalmouth Action!

There is far more to football than the English Premier League or German Bundesliga etc. This is goalmouth action from the Portsmouth Senior Cup match between Petersfield Town and United Services Portsmouth. The game is played with as much (if not more) passion than any higher level and represents what many believe is the REAL game. The match finished 0-0, but Petersfield won 5-3 on Penalties, this being a “knockout” cup match.

  12. Great shot. It’s a shame the high rise disturbs the view, but the Sunset over Manila Bay really does need to be experienced!
  13. Taken in Hampshire, Southern England on a Sunny Autumn morning, the sky is busy with flights heading West and East. Many of the vapour trails are Transatlantic flights but also many are heading to/from Spain according to “Flightradar.”

    Farnham Town v Horndean.

Action from the Isthmian League (one of the lower leagues in English football) match between Farnham Town and Horndean which finished 2-2. The club had just come off the back of a record breaking 58 game run unbeaten in the League!

  16. Class 484 004 approaches Yarbridge (about 1/4 mile South of Brading) on its way to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

  17. Class 484 004 has departed Brading on the Isle of Wight’s Island Line on its way to Shanklin. The double track reduces down to a single track. This picture was taken from the Barnes Crossing where a public footpath crosses the railway, in case anyone thinks I was trespassing! 😄

  18. Most cities in England have a Cathedral, but it is an often a mistaken belief that a city must have one to qualify as a city. It does not, and is actually dependent on whether a “Royal Charter” has been granted. Portsmouth is unusual insofar as it has 2 x Cathedrals; a Roman Catholic and and Anglican one. This is the Anglican one in area of the city known as “Old Portsmouth” and is seen here from Camber Dock after the storm clouds have passed over.

  19. Sad to say, the dog who was a regular, passed away a short time ago. There is a picture tribute attached to the fence now at that location as a tribute. 😔
  20. When I went there I thought it was like Brighton, but on a tropical beach! Didn’t like it at first, but after 24 x hours, I thought it was brilliant!
  21. This is the classic Boracay view. Love it!
