2J53 formed with an unidentified Class 450 Desiro, pulls away toward a “Double Yellow” Signal at Aldershot on its way from Platform 1 to Guildford. In the meantime 2A95 has finished its journey from London Waterloo on Platform 3. The floodlights from Aldershot Town FC can be seen in the distance.

The FA Vase is a national competition in England for the lower league teams which culminates in a Final at Wembley. Farnham Town had been favourites to beat Bridgewater United at the Memorial Ground and possibly get to the final. Alas it was not to be as they lost 1-2.

New Years Eve Sunset at the Royal Oak

The Royal Oak is a legendary pub in the tiny hamlet of Hollywater in Hampshire (between Liphook and Whitehill). After being closed for over 2 x years, it re-opened in November 2023 and is again proving popular. The Sun is setting on New Years Eve 2023 and unfortunately heavy rain isn’t too far away, but let’s hope the Sun never sets again on the Royal Oak!© Tim Penycate
