  10. The River Wey marks the County Boundary between Hampshire and West Sussex about 2 x miles South West of Haslemere in a village called Hammer (named after a long closed Iron works which used the power of the River to drive machinery). The actual River itself rises in Haslemere and eventually joins the other branch of the River Wey at Tilford before flowing into the River Thames at Weybridge more than 30 x miles away to the North East. The River is fast flowing and has been swollen slightly by a couple of days of heavy rain.

  11. Gale force winds are blowing from the West through the Solent and heavy rain isn't far away. An Isle of Wight car ferry still ploughs on through the heavy seas to the Fishbourne terminal on the Island from Portsmouth.

  12. These tracks at Ascot Station in Berkshire used to connect through to the line from Guildford, but when the Station track layout was re-modelled in the 1960s, they became sidings for the berthing of trains on race days at the nearby Royal Ascot Racecourse. The sidings in turn fell out of use in the mid 1980s and nature is well and truly taking over some 35 x years later.

  13. A Silver Birch has grown up through an old disused Station platform at Ascot Station in Berkshire. Although Ascot Station is still very much in use, this Platform has not seen a Train since the mid 1980s. Nature takes over!
