  1. A Class 484 Unit makes a ghostly image as it makes its way across Ryde pier towards Ryde Esplanade Station on an evening working to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

    2-2!

A Pre Season “Friendly” sees Petersfield Town equalise against Gosport Borough to make it 2-2 from a Free Kick. Alas it was in vain as Gosport Borough went on to win 7-2!

  3. Once the tallest building in the world, the spire of Salisbury Cathedral rises above the trees on a beautiful Spring afternoon in the city.

  4. A Cumulus Nimbus cloud builds above the stand of Farnham Town FC and is lit by the Sun. The storms have passed Farnham for the day, but as darkness falls, an occasional distant flicker of lightning can be seen.

  6. Taken from the South Bank of the Thames, a colourful night time image of the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Bridge and Big Ben (actually St Stephens Clocktower) in London.

  7. 484 002 arrives at Ryde Esplanade from Shanklin on the Isle of Wight’s “Island Line.”

  8. Well not quite so old! Although the body and bogies are 1980s vintage, the rest of the train was only built in 2021!

    Straight Red Card!

Badshot Lea are reduced to 10 x players in the 3rd minute of the local “Derby” match against Farnham Town in the Combined Counties League. The card has been shown for “Serious Foul Play” following an earlier tackle.

    Hailstorm!

A sudden violent hailstorm at Badshot Lea v Farnham Town in the Combined Counties Leagus, sees the Referee suspend play for 5 x minutes until it has passed over!

  11. Wight Ryder II arrives at Ryde Pier Head from Portsmouth Harbour, ready to go back with 23:10 sailing back from Ryde Pier Head. This is the last sailing of the day. The Covid pandemic affected public transport quite badly in the UK in 2020 and 2021 and mostly (but not all) it has returned to what it was in 2019, but it has been a slow process. In March 2023 Wightlink (the operator) restored a lot of its services lost during that terrible period for the world. The restoration of these services are VERY welcome!

  12. Unit 484 001 has the Signal (as shown by the “Off Indicator”) to depart with 2D23 18:00 Ryde Esplanade to Shanklin service on Island Line. A beautiful study of 484 001 in the low sunlight.

  14. The River Wey rises in the North at Alton and the South in Haslemere and combine in Tilford near Farnham before flowing into the River Thames at Weybridge. Here at Hammer Vale (about 2 x miles from source in Haslemere), the South Wey flows quite heavily swollen by recent heavy rainfall).

  15. It is a long running joke in the lower leagues of British football that the only people who attend are a man with his dog! Here is a dog without his “Mam” watching Alton v Fleet Town! 4-1 to Alton!

  16. Winchester is the “County Town” of Hampshire (even though it is actually a City). This is the City’s Cathedral with the rather unique green roof of the Guildhall also in view. The Guildhall has always reminded me of the Town Hall in the 1960s children’s TV programme, “Trumpton!”

  17. Looking South and the Sun is casting its last light on the mountains and surrounds in Batangas Province in the Philippines.

  18. In Batangas province, the Sun has gone leaving a late dusk in the west. The electricity cables seem to cut through the sky!

  19. Most cities still have a frenetic morning and evening rush hour. Here it plays out along Makati City’s Ayala Avenue in Manila.

    The Finish Line!

A close finish is captured in this dramatic picture from Lingfield Park Racecourse in Surrey on a cold Saturday afternoon.

  22. The freezing fog has not lifted for a couple of days, but the Sun tries hard to dispel it over RHS Wisley Gardens in Surrey.

  23. RHS Wisley is a huge garden in Surrey just a mile South of the London Orbital Motorway, the M25. A freezing fog has sat over the garden for several days and produces this beautiful view.

  24. Aldershot Town are well on the way to a 3-0 defeat to Notts County, as the Sun sets and lights the clouds high above the Recreation Ground in Aldershot.
